Smartrr seeks an exceptional Data Engineering Lead to join our dynamic e-commerce startup. As the Data Engineering Lead, you will be pivotal in driving our data infrastructure and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.



  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure using BigQuery, Airflow, and other relevant technologies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights through data models, dashboards, and reports

  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and timely availability

  • Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and ownership

  • Actively contribute to the technical roadmap and architecture decisions, considering scalability, performance, and maintainability

  • Partner with stakeholders to evangelize data-driven decision-making and promote data literacy across the organization

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and best practices in data engineering


  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of building and managing large-scale data infrastructures

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with BigQuery or similar data warehousing technologies

  • Expertise in data orchestration and workflow management using Airflow or similar tools

  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, preferably Looker

  • Solid programming skills in Node.js/JavaScript and Python for data processing and automation tasks

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and their data services

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake architectures

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently drive projects from conception to completion

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Passion for leveraging data to drive business growth and improve customer experiences
